Edith always loved animals and enjoyed the animal visits at Altercare Skilled Nursing Facility of Mentor. Every member who came into contact with Edith was especially generous in the loving care that was given to her. We also wish to acknowledge the care that the nurses and doctors at TriPoint Medical Center gave Edith and her family in her final days. |

He was devoted to his beloved wife Mary and his children Gian Ferrara of Mentor, Lisa Ferrara of Akron, Marisa (Jason) Boston of Saline, MI, and Diana Ferrara of Akron. and his grandchildren Emily and Felix He is survived by his siblings Maria, Nini, and Carlo of Sicily, Italy and his mother- and brother-in-law, Rosa and Joseph Russotto of Painesville. He is preceded in death by his father Giovanni Ferrara and his mother Antonina Citraro. |
He was passionate about living life to its fullest, and helping others do so as well. He could be easily found dispensing advice while smoking hand-rolled cigarettes on front stoops, or delivering garden tomatoes and homemade wine to friends and family.
Born in Fantina, Sicily, Salvatore moved to Switzerland as a young man where he worked as a civil engineer. On a visit home he met his wife of 41 years, Mary (Russotto) Ferrara, who he followed to Ohio in 1970. In Mentor, he raised 4 children and built a general contracting business.

Rev. Mattson received the Ecclesiae Christi Award for “effective ministry among God’s people in today’s world”. He served for over 50 years in Pastoral Ministry.
He was a Vicar at Grace Lutheran Church in Thompson, OH, served as Founding Pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Painesville, OH and served as Pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in Omro, WI. Rev. Mattson returned to Ohio and served as Pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairport Harbor, Oh and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He retired in 1998 from St. Paul ‘s Lutheran Church where he was currently serving as Pastor Emeritus.

Tommie retired from the City of Painesville department of Public Works Street Department after many years. He loved gardening, Fishing and telling stories. Tommie came to Painesville he resided in Painesville until 2011.The last year he resided in Painesville, his son Patrick and wife (Carol) acted as his caregivers. During the same month of January 2011, Tommie was discharged from the Hospital and moved to Old Brooklyn Ohio with his granddaughter Ne’Quinne Chielo. Tommie’s other granddaughter, Alishalea Lawson of Brooklyn Ohio whom he raised with his late wife Rose Lawson, also helped care for him daily.
The family would like to Thank Jay Dodd who was not only Tommie’s neighbor but a devoted friend for many years, Annie Gibson, Emily Fourqurean, (neighbor) Richard, Ruthie Fischer, Rodrick Watkins, Kristi Krug, Josh Rains, Liz Quarm, Richard Pettie,(nephew)Joseph Horvath, Cindy Brooks,C.C.F. home health nurse Barb Cicirella. Dr. Susan Saber, the entire eight floor staff of Parma Community General Hospital along with Seasons of Life Hospice.

Mary taught Sunday School at the First Baptist Church in Painesville for many years, she also worked in the cafeteria for Phillips School in Painesville and Hale Road School in Painesville Township. She was a member of Community Christian Church and enjoyed crocheting, watching the Cleveland Indians. The most important thing to her was her family and the Lord. She always had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed. |

He was an Army Veteran of World War II, Tec 5 and served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatres
He was the past Post Commander of V.F.W., Post 2595 in Painesville where he served on the Honor Guard for 60 years.

George retired from the Diamond-Shamrock Corp. He also retired as a 20 year volunteer fireman for the Painesville Twp Fire Department.
George enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman who took great pride making his own tyes and lures, plus sharing his stories with his fishing buddies and family. Canadian fishing trips with family and friends were his fondest memories.

He came to the United States via Ellis Island in 1928, and became a United States Citizen on February 13, 1953.
He was employed at the former Staley Soy Bean Factory in Grand River and retired in the 1980’s as a Union Laborer at the Perry Nuclear Power Plant.
Hans enjoyed filming the Great Lakes Freighters as they passed around the Grand River turn basin in Fairport Harbor. A Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather; Hans dearly loved his family and spending times with them at the Fairport Harbor Yacht Club and fishing in Lake Erie.

Ruth was in the field of elementary education for 36 years. She has a B.S. degree from Lake Erie College, a Master’s degree from Case Western Reserve University and graduate credits from Kent State University and Youngstown State University |
She Taught in the primary grades for several years, was an Elementary Supervisor for the Lake County Board of Education, a Reading supervisor, and Administrator for the Painesville Township Schools. She served as a Principal at Concord and Hadden schools and retired from Melridge School where she was also the Principal and retired in 1992.
She was a member of Emblem Club, Y’s Menettes, Phi Delta Kappa, Delta Kappa Gamma, Ohio and Lake County Retired Teachers Associations, N.E.O.T.A, O. E. A., N. E. A., Club “80”, Fairport Historical Society & Fairport Red Hatters. She was a reading Specialist and served on the Ohio State Committee to establish the Ohio Chapter of the Internations Reading Association and was a trustee of Fairport Senior Citizen Center.

Preceded in death are his beloved mother Antonetta on March 28, 2011 and his father Atillo on October 5, 2011. They are together now in heaven with baby sister Antoinette and grandparents.

He attended St. Mary’s grade School and graduated from Harvey High school in 1963. |
He was a member of St. Mary’s Church and the Knight’s of Columbus and the OCAW. He loved his golden Retriever “Sam”. His hobbies were yard work, children, grandchildren and his trucks.
Mr. Pizzi retired from Radix Wire in 2001. He also worked at Dyson’s, Allied Chemical, Diamond Shamrock and Roy George Vending. He was on the Painesville Township Fire Dept for 25 years.
Mr. Pizzi was a very well liked person. He would help anyone that asked him for help.

Corky was a member, and canteen manager, of American Legion Post 336 in Painesville for the past eight years. Leading with kindness and abundant empathy, she took great pride in her work. Prior to the Legion she worked for over 20 years at the Stadium Lounge in Painesville. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with friends and family. Corky’s love was felt by many and her never ending compassion, support, and unique sense of humor will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. |

He served as a SGT in the US Army participating in the Pacific Theatre stationed in the Solomon Islands |
He graduated from Harvey High School, class of 1936 and attended Findlay College where he played football until he was the first person from Lake County drafted into World War II. |
He owned and operated Hine’s Service Station at the corner of Rt. 84 and Rt. 86. He retired in 1985 from the City of Painesville Electric Department
Remembered for his little farm on the corner of Callow Rd and Rt. 86 in Leroy Twp. where he raised sheep, spent many hours in his garden, and mowing his 3 acre farm with his John Deere Tractor; “Farmer” was one of the original founders of the Leroy Youth Club in the 1960’s and served as 4-H advisor for the Beef Marketeer.

Felix and his family would spend their summers at the cottage on the shores of the Trent River in Campbellford Ontario, Canada. Many hours were spent fishing for Walleye, boating, and at evening campfires.
