Francis A. "Frank" Sirna

March 28, 1928 ~ March 26, 2017 (age 88) 88 Years Old


Frank was born March 28, 1928 in Ridgeley, West Virginia and passed away March 26, 2017 at Tri Point Medical Center in Concord Township, Ohio.  

He was a resident of the Painesville, Ohio area since 1948.  He graduated from LaSalle High School in Cumberland, Maryland in 1946.

Frank worked 32 years at I R C Fibers as a supervisor in the maintenance department, retiring in 1980 when the plant closed.  He then worked 14 years at Best Sand Corporation as the maintenance superintendent, retiring in 1994. 

He enjoyed building and home repair… helping many friends, neighbors and relatives over the years. He knew the value of hard work and kindness. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew him. There was no one he loved more than his late wife Pat. Their love brought joy to this world, as it will to the next.

Frank is survived by his son, Frank (Katy) Sirna of Thompson, Ohio; daughter, Linda (James) Gentile of Munroe Falls, Ohio; grandchildren, Jamie (Jeff) Welshhans, Heather Sirna, Kelly Gentile, and Robert (Monica) Phillips; brother, John (Ann) Sirna; sisters, Jean Detrick, and Margaret (Harold) Owens; many nieces and nephews. He was especially close with Sam (JoAnn) Sirna, his nephew who he thought of as a son.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Patricia (Smith) Sirna; parents, Sam and Rose (Ridolfo) Sirna; sisters, Carmelita Fleming, Mary Martin, and Eleanor Mull; brothers, Joseph Sirna, Michael Sirna and Charles Sirna.

If you wish to honor Frank please consider making a donation to the American Heart Association in his name or to a charity of your choosing. The family is planning a small, private memorial service at a later date.
