George W. Batykefer

Funeral services for George W. Batykefer, 77, will be 6:00 PM, Tuesday, December 19th at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.  Family and friends may call prior to the service from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Batykefer was born July 1, 1940 in Warrendale, Pennsylvania.  He passed away December 15, 2017 at his residence in Painesville.

George served in the U. S. Army in Korea and Vietnam.  He was a tool and die maker and worked for ARC Rubber in Mentor for 20 years.  He also worked in construction, helping to build Wal-Mart in Mentor.  George was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 336 in Painesville, where he was the canteen manager for many years.   He was also lifetime member of V F W Post 2595 in Painesville, and a member of the Hungarian Culture Club in Fairport Harbor.  He loved golfing and enjoyed woodworking.

George is survived by his wife, Nancy (Sweeney) Baytkefer, whom he married October 19, 1973; daughter, Barbara Davis; son, Daniel (Cathleen) Hobson, son, Raymond (Dawn) Batykefer, daughter, Nancy Martin and son, George Batykefer; grandchildren, Todd, Mathew, David, Anthony and Stephanie; Four great grandchildren; sisters, Janet (Richard) Raible and Marjorie Present.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth (Bassett) Batykefer; brothers, Richard Batykefer and Jack Batykefer.
