Mass of Christian Burial for James E. “Jim” Myers, Sr. will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 11th at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Road, Madison, Ohio.  PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Family and friends may call 4:00-8:00 Friday, November 10th at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville.

Burial will be in North Madison Cemetery.

Mr. Myers was born September 9, 1938 in West Union, West Virginia and passed away November 6, 2017 at Hospice House in Cleveland. 

He retired from Lincoln Electric, after 26 years, in 2000.  James also worked for the former Ohio Rubber Co. and South Shore Tool and Die.  After retiring he loved  woodworking…making many items for his family and friends.

James was an avid sports fan, he followed the Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavs, loved Ohio State football, and attended many local high school sporting events.  He also loved to bowl and golf.  He coached little league baseball and football in Madison for many years.  He  was a 1957 graduate of Harvey High School, and  inducted into the Harvey High School Hall of Fame in 2004. 

James was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 112, Sons of the American Legion, for all his donated time and efforts helping Veterans.

He is survived by his wife Barbara (Komniey) Myers, whom he married January 16, 1960; sons, Jim, Jr. (Gerri) Myers, John Myers; daughter, Jodie (Rob) Snyder; grandchildren, Mathew R. (Danielle) Snyder, Gabrielle N. Snyder, Kim (George) Hollister and David (Flora) Bower; three great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Jane Underwood and many nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Lyndall (Underwood) Myers; brothers, Bill Myers and Alva “Heavy” Myers; sister Anna Mae Smith.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory may be made to American Legion Post 112, 6671 Middle Ridge Road, Madison, 44057 or to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 5786 Heisley Road, Mentor, 44060.
