So many things to remember and so many forgotten, so I will mention just one. I recall the day that John, Jim and I were playing together when his mom hollered out the back door that she was off to the store. We were to watch the house and listen for the phone. It wasn't long before we smelled something wonderful coming from the kitchen. John's mom had baked a wonderful chocolate cake for his dad as a treat after dinner. We got together and ate the whole thing! When his mom arrived home and found what had happened, she detached the iron cord from the iron and the wall, folded it in two and proceeded to chase us all around the house and leaving some pretty good welts whenever she managed to corner us. We all agreed that it was the best chocolate cake we ever ate and worth every welt. With all my love and prayers to my best friend. I shall miss you.

John was a good friend that we spent a lot of time with. He and his Wife Pat were
fun to be with and to share pie with. He always offered a helping hand and was quick
to do anything for you. We will miss him but keep him alive in our hearts and minds.
Heaven has a new handyman!

John was a very special man. We will miss so many of his unique qualities. The way he listened without interruption then always offered advice that made sense. His own brand of humor. The pride in his eyes when he spoke of his children and grandchildren. The love he shared with his wife for so many years. There was a quiet gentleness about him. Yet he could laugh and party with the best of them. He was a realist yet an optimist.

It is never easy to lose a loved one. Slowly, however, the pain will ease. However the memories will always be there. All of us will cherish them. Rest In Peace, John.
