Mr. Welch was born September 24, 1954 in Melrose Park, Illinois. He entered his eternal rest March 16, 2018 at Hillcrest Hospital.
Kim was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Painesville and sang in the choir. He served in the Armed Forces of the U. S. Army and was a 14-year veteran of the Army’s 1/327th Inf Bn 101st ABN Div., stationed out of Fort Campbell, KY. He was employed by the Chrysler Corp. as an assembler.
He belonged to the OHSSA Umpires Association and umpired baseball in the northeastern areas of Ohio. Kim loved his Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks and took great pride in the Cubs’ World Series victory in 2016. He also loved to watch NASCAR. As evidence of the love for that sport, you would never see Kim without his number 48, Jimmie Johnson hat.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn R. and Ruth H. (Schwass) Welch, and sister Kathleen Taggart.
