A Celebration of Life will be held for Leslie Raymond Naughton, 89, of Grand River, Ohio, on December 22, 2017, at the First Church Congregational. A  Fireman’s Last call will be held at 7 PM and service  held immediately following in the church’s sanctuary. Les was born, August 7, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio to Edward Raymond Naughton and Violet Estelle (nee Huston). He married Georgia Brunson and they spent 67 years together.  He worked for 29 years at the IRC Fibers (American Cyanamid) and was a clown for their Christmas party for many years. Les was a Captain on the Grand River Fire Department and also a charter member of the Painesville Township Fire Department where he was affectionately known as “Pappy”.  Les loved family, food (especially fish and clams), gardening, sports, hard work, and laughter. He served as a Scoutmaster, coached for Painesville Girls Ponytail league, social member of VFW and volunteered for Christmas for Every Child. Les was a long serving member of the Grand River UCC and a current member of the First Church Congregational of Painesville. Leslie is survived by his wife Georgia, brother Lynn Naughton, his brother-in-law Lou Tsipis, his children Deborah (Daniel) Lilly, Lauren (Blake) Lunsford, Wilson (Beth) Naughton, Marla ( Mark) Andersen, Mark (Angela) Naughton, 17 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren and two Great Great grandchildren. Les died peacefully on December 15, 2017 surrounded by family.   Les was preceded in death by his parents, brother James Naughton, sister Marilyn Tsipis,  brother-in-law W. Robert Brunson and sister-in-laws LaVern Naughton and Mary Lou Naughton.

Family will receive friends on Friday, December 22,  from 5-7 at the First Church Congregational’s fellowship room. Gifts and memorials can be made to the Grand River Fire Department (205 Singer Ave, Grand River, OH 44045) or the First Church Congregational ( 22 Liberty St, Painesville, OH 44077).
