Nancy L. (Fluharty) Miller

November 15, 1949 ~ May 24, 2017 (age 67) 67 Years Old

"I carry your heart with me, I carry it in my heart.  I am never without it. Anywhere I go, you go, my dear."

Nancy L. (Fluharty) Miller passed away on May 24, 2017 at home with her loving husband and family by her side. She was 67 years old.

Nancy was born on November 15, 1949, in Augusta Georgia. She was the daughter of a military family.

She attended Perry Public Schools where she met and fell in love in the 7th grade, with a handsome young football player named Buzz Miller.  The two were married on April 4, 1968 and together raised three children.  Buzz and Nancy built a house in Chardon where they lived for 26 years.  They moved from Chardon to Painesville, where they have lived for the past 14 years.  Once her children were all in school, Nancy was hired by Bank One, where she worked for over 20 years. She started out as a teller and worked her way up to branch manager at the Chardon Square office until she retired.

Nancy's greatest joy in life was her family.  She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother more than anything. Nancy loved to talk. Most often she would talk about her children or grandchildren. Their accomplishments or achievements made her so proud.  She was their greatest fan. Nancy loved going to all special events, school, or to watch them play sports. When she wasn't with her family, she could often be found at the Northfield Casino.  Her favorite spot was in front of the "China Shores" slot machine. Another favorite pastime was knitting.  Recently, she took the time to knit baby blankets for her future great grandchildren. Nancy enjoyed 11 cruises, a trip to Hawaii, Vegas, multiple trips to Florida, but, her favorite was family camping trips for 25 years to Kings Island in Cincinnati.

She is survived by her (middle school sweetheart) loving husband of 49 years Foster "Buzz" Miller Jr., Devoted children: Rich (Lori) Miller of Perry, Lori (Tom) Miller of Madison, Tim Miller of Canton and Grandchildren: Dylan, Allissa, Adam, Lindsey, Julia, and Delaney, her brother, Carl "Tuck" Fluharty.

She is predeceased by her beautiful granddaughter Alexis "Lexi" Miller, her parents, Carl and Betty Fluharty, sister, Diana Andrikanich, and beloved yorkie, Peanut.

A private ceremony was performed by Pastor Mike Martin for immediate family at home.

Contributions may be made in Nancy's name to Hospice of Cleveland Clinic. The family would like to say a very special thank you to her 2nd family at the cancer center at Hillcrest Hospital.  Your kindness, care and compassion has deeply touched our hearts.
