Richard, the son of Richard, Sr. and Blanche (Testa) Culp, was born on January 20, 1943 in Washington D.C. and passed away January 28, 2018 at Burton Health Care Center.
He served in the Army in Vietnam in 1966 and 67. Butch won a sharpshooter medal and was awarded 2 purple hearts which he declined saying “I didn't come here for medals, I came to do a job.”
Butch was the past President of the Father-Son Bowling League at Regal Lanes for quite a few years. He was single but would take children who didn’t have a father to bowl so the child could be a part of the league.
Butch was a sheet metal professional who also designed and built copper windows for houses and buildings. His hobbies and clubs included being a member of the NRA, belonging to the Point Blank Shooting range and was proud of his gun collection. He was also the past President of the Chardon Eagles Club where he was a lifelong member. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge 490 in Painesville.
He was always there for anyone in the family who needed him. He also loved to go to the casinos and to Las Vegas. He spent most of his life "making things better" everywhere he went. He loved his family and his extended family and always thought of them first.
