Welcome to the memorial page for

Ryan A. Meraglio

August 22, 1988 ~ October 15, 2017 (age 29) 29 Years Old

Heroin took our loving son, Ryan.  He struggled with addiction for years.  Eleven months ago, God brought Ryan home from Lake Tahoe.  He was using at the time, but found peace and serenity at a wonderful, sober home, Lia’s House.  It was tough, but he became our Ryan again.

Ryan was always compassionate, caring, and a delight to be around.  Our love for him was unconditional.  Daily telephone calls, intelligent conversation, wonderful visits and excursions.  It was a joy to see him prosper again.  Sober!

We had hope.  He had dreams again.  He was intelligent, poetic, musical and loved nature.  A great drummer and snow boarder.  He loved golf and was employed at a golf course.  It was finally happening, he was succeeding in his fight over this terrible drug.  He was in a good place.

Then in one day, one phone call…the call you never want to receive came.

We love you Ryan, with all our hearts.  We cherish every moment we had with you – both good and bad. Your warm smile, sense of humor, and wit will always be a part of us.  Grandpa Russ and Grandpa Lin are now with you.  Your family, friends, and anyone who crossed your path will remember how much fun you were.

Mass of Christian burial for Ryan will be 11:00 AM Thursday, October 19th at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Road, Concord Township, OH.  Family and friends may call Wednesday, October 18th from 4:00-8:00 PM at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, OH.

Ryan is survived by his parents, Russell and Lynne (Fasula) Meraglio; brothers, Tom (Jacquelyn) Advey and Nicholas Meraglio; maternal grandmother, Margaret (Ken) Wetzel; paternal grandmother, Ann (Rick) Meraglio-Kestner; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Ryan didn’t think that the drug would ever take him.  No addict ever does.  We pray for all the families who have experienced this devastating epidemic.

Donations in Ryan’s memory may be sent to:  The Lia House, P. O. Box 609008, Cleveland, Ohio 44109.
