Steve J. Adams

Mass of Christian Burial for Stephen Joseph Adams will be Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 242 N. State Street, Painesville.  Please meet at the church.  Family and friends may call from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday, December 2 at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, OH.

Born May, 15, 1940 in Painesville, he passed away November 19, 2016 at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township.

Steve grew up in Fairport Harbor.  He attended Ohio State University, served 3 years in the U. S. Army from 1961 to 1964, worked at Uniroyal while attending Lake Erie College, where he received a B. S. degree in Science.  He also earned his MBA from Cleveland State in 1982.  Steve taught at Lakeland part-time and Cleveland State full-time after retiring.  He coached Little League and co-chaired Riverside High School PFC with his wife.  He also served on the Lake County Planning Commission and volunteered at Geneva Hospital in the rehab unit.

Steve is survived by his wife, Betty (Satterfield) Adams, whom he married in 1962 in Ft. Sam Houston, TX.  Sons, Col. Richard (Kris) Adams, U. S. Army, and Michael (Holly Smiley) Adams; Grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacob and Jordan Adams.   Brothers, Thomas Adams, Charles (Cynthia) Adams; Sisters, Charlotte Hall, Valerie (Gordon) Miller and Janet (Jeff) Douglas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen P. and Mildred “Millie” (Eiben) Adams, and a grandson Alexander.
