Mass of Christian Burial for William Holmes will be 10:30 AM, Friday, May 4th at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 315 Fifth Street, Fairport Harbor, OH. Please meet at the church. Family and friends may visit between 4:00 – 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 3rd at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville.
William was born September 30, 1991 in Greenville, North Carolina and passed away April 25, 2018 in Painesville.
William was a 2010 graduate of Harvey High School. He spent 10 years in the Boy Scouts as a member of Troop 62, earning the highest rank of Eagle Scout which set the foundation of his willingness and desire to be of service to others. He loved music and especially enjoyed playing his guitar. Video games, board games, reading and cooking for family and friends brought him lots of laughter and joy.
William is survived by his sister, Katie (Brandan) Bowles; parents, Brian and Amy (Hadden) Holmes; paternal grandparents, William and Barbara Holmes; maternal grandmother, Geraldine Hadden, and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations in William’s memory may be made to Summit for Soldiers, 205 Henderson Road, Columbus, Ohio 43214. Summit for Soldiers is an Ohio-based non-profit charity that assists veterans struggling with PTSD.
