Dr. Salvatore G. Rizzo

Private graveside services for Dr. Salvatore G. Rizzo, M.D. were held at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville.

Salvatore was the son of Salvatore and Rosalie (Ceresia) Rizzo. He was born January 13, 1929 in Cleveland and passed away July 27, 2017 at Brookdale of Mentor.

Dr. Rizzo served in the U. S. Marine Corps.   He graduated from John Carroll University and Case Western Reserve Medical School in 1960.   He was a very loved Family Physician, that was known for his amazing diagnostic skills, and long waits in his waiting room. 

He had a  family practice in Painesville for 38 years and then served as Lake County Coroner from October 1998 to December 2007.  

He and Dolly had many fun times at Hellriegels and Gyro Club. Sal and Dolly were happily married for 68 years. He enjoyed fishing with his son Larry, Daughter in Law Lori, Grandson Joey, and dear friend Robin Cross. 

He loved many different animals especially his beloved poodle Cindy. 

Dr. Rizzo  is survived by his son, Lawrence D. (Lori) Rizzo; grandson, Joseph Rizzo; sister, Rosalie Miller and cousin Carl (Beth) Rizzo

He was preceded in death in 2016 by his wife, Dolly V. Rizzo; his parents; sisters, Anna Marie Boswell and Margaret Mary Voigt.
