Mass of Christian Burial for Edward Francis “Duke” Ignat will be 10:00 AM. Tuesday, March 20th at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 521 Plum Street, Fairport Harbor, Ohio. Family and friends may call 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Monday, March 19th at Mulqueeny Spear Funeral Home, 312 Eagle Street in Fairport Harbor.
Mr. Ignat was born October 4, 1946 in Painesville and passed away March 15, 2018 at Tri Point Medical Center in Concord Township.
Duke was a life-long Lake County resident and was employed by Avery Dennison as a coating line operator. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling, mowing his lawn, and working on his handy-man projects. He loved to help everyone.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Sandra (Malkamaki) Ignat; son, Joseph (Jenni) Ignat of Wesley Chapel, Florida; daughters, Beth (Tim) Warneka of Wickliffe, Valerie (Jim) Barnewall of Bay Village and Julie Ignat of Painesville; grandchildren, Jackie, Matthew, Christopher, and Bridget; brothers, Dan (Malia) Ignat of Fairport and Thomas (Karen) Ignat of Fredonia, Pennsylvania; sisters, Elaine McGuire of Fairport, Mary Fleig of Texas and Bettie (Tom) Kutie of Fairport; he also leaves his “best buddies”, Bear, Hershey and Larry.
Duke was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Robert and Irene (Giratos) Ignat and his sister, Pattie Crawford.
