Mass of Christian Burial for Felix F. Padula, age 77 of Leroy Township, will be 9:30 a.m., Monday August 20 at St. Mary Church, 242 North State Street, Painesville, Ohio. Family and Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, August 19, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville.
Felix was born August 10, 1941 in Painesville to Felix A. and Janet (Marotta) Padula. A longtime resident of Leroy Township, he passed away August 14, 2018 at Tri-Point Medical Center in Concord Township.
Felix graduated from Perry High School in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne Division and in Vietnam from 1962-1965. He married Laphine (Hubbard) Padula in 1967 and together they shared 45 years of marriage until her passing March 24, 2013. Felix was a self-employed general contractor, building many homes including his own. Later he and Laphine owned Buckboard Trucking in Perry. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; his flower and vegetable gardens were his pride and joy. He was a member of St. Mary Church, Knights of Columbus Council 947 and VFW Post 7754.
He is survived by Laphine’s sisters, Beverly Honkala and Joan Quigley; numerous cousins; special friend Karen Lonsway; and many other lasting friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and sister Patricia Padula.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Painesville.
