Funeral Services for Gary Buchs, 65, a life-long Lake County resident, will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio. Family and friends will be received 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, August 17th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Perry Cemetery.
Gary was born January 6, 1953 in Painesville and passed away August 15, 2018 at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland, surrounded by family and friends.
He served in the U. S. Navy and was a salt miner for the Morton Salt Company for many years. He served as a street commissioner of Grand River Village. Gary was very interested in the folklore of “sasquatch”. He loved music and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He also had interest in old cars.
Gary is survived by his wife, Linda (Ledbetter) Buchs of Perry; daughter, Rhonda (Carl) Kropko of Perry; mother, Louise (Whipple) Buchs of Grand River; grandchildren, Amanda (Brian) Brady, Stephanie (Joe) Moore and Matthew Kropko; brothers, Rex (Diane) Buchs of Painesville, Kevin (Michelle) Buchs of Fairport Harbor, Eric Buchs of Grand River; sister, Sherri (Ron) Liggett of Mentor; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Gottlieb Buchs and sister-in-law, Marie Urban.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Hospice of the Western Reserve 300 East 185th Street Cleveland, OH 44119.
