A Memorial Mass for Joseph Martin Potpan, 77, of Leroy Township, will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 17, 2018, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 16550 Rock Creek Road, Thompson, Ohio.
He was born May 2, 1941 in Cleveland and passed away peacefully on October 30, 2018 in Mentor, Ohio with family by his side. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend.
Joe attended John Carroll University prior to proudly serving in the United States Air Force for four years. Joe was stationed at Eglin Airforce Base where he met and married the love of his life, Margarette (Brown) Potpan. He was partnered in several family owned businesses prior to being employed as an insurance appraiser until retiring in 2010.
He is survived by his son, Christopher (Natalie) Potpan of Leroy Township and brother, John (Judy)Potpan of Florida, and sister-in-laws Sharon Potpan, Gina Potpan, Betty Ann Hedeman and Phyllis Hess. Joe also leaves many loving cousins, nieces and nephews along with their families.
Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margarette in 2005; brother, Richard Potpan and his parents, Joseph and Mary (Hosta) Potpan.
