On April 12, 2017, Michael L. Davis Sr. of Concord Township, OH sadly, lost a short but courageous battle to cancer.  Born July, 4th, 1955, he passed away at home cradled in his family’s loving embrace.  He was 61 years young.

He is survived by his wife Rosemarie (Koleno) Davis, his four children: Michael (Aimee) Davis Jr. of Painesville; Matthew (Jennifer) Davis of Madison; Nancy (Artur) Blazej of Eschenbach, Germany; and Cynthia Bowes of Concord Township. Michael cherished his grandchildren: Melanie Angell; Alexa Clark; Brandon & Haylee Kenenske; Kennedy & Harper Davis and Dominik Blazej.

He is also survived by his mother, Myrtlene (Madison) Davis, sisters, Yulonda (Bruce) Stevenson of Hartsgrove, OH and Tammy (Jeff) Brown of Gadsden, AL.

He was uncle and great uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael was also a great friend to so, so many folks around the area.

He was preceded in death by his father, William “Leonard” Davis and brother, Peter Davis.

Michael was born in Cleveland and raised in Collinwood, OH graduating from Collinwood High School in the early 70’s.  Michael was a dedicated employee of Swagelok for 33+ years as a set-up operator.

Michael was an auxiliary member of the George E. Hayward VFW Post 9295 in Mentor Ohio.  He served as the President of the Men’s Auxiliary unit for the past few years.  He was always quick to volunteer in support of any needs that arose at the post.  As the emcee directing many drawings, one could often hear Michael shouting “One Ticket and One Ticket Only!”  The echo of his laughter and the memory of his smile will be cherished by many at Post 9295 for years to come.

It would not be fair to say Michael had a specific hobby but if pressed, Michael’s hobby was simply to enjoy every day to the maximum.  He just always wanted to do “stuff”.  He built and rebuilt his Model “T” Bucket Roadster; he created a palace out of a house with his own hands; he loved to hang and shoot with friends at the Rock Creek Conservation Area during Sunday morning Turkey Shoots.  Special to Michael’s heart was time spent at a close friend’s hunting camp in Pennsylvania known as the “Kickapoo Lodge”.

The Reverend Kevin Gwynn, a personal friend of Michael’s, will administer services in Michael’s honor at 9:30 AM Saturday, April 15th at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, located at 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville, OH.

Family, friends and acquaintances may visit with the family Friday April 14th from 10:00 AM – 12:00PM and 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

In Lieu of flowers, Donations to the family would be appreciated.
