Michael C. Perry, 63, passed away December 9, 2018 at Tri-Point Medical Center in Concord Township He was born November 6, 1955 in East Cleveland to Joseph and Dorothy (Luther) Perry.
Michael graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1974. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan.
He worked for the East Cleveland Police Department for 26 years. During that time, he held the position of patrol officer, K-9 officer, detective, worked in the narcotics department and retired as Sargeant. Michael also worked for the Lake County Sheriff’s Department for 6 years.
He was a member of American Legion Post 336 in Painesville, past Commander of the Sons of American Legion and currently held the position of treasurer. He was also a social member of the Hungarian Culture Club in Fairport Harbor, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and the Ohio Patrolman’s Benevolent Association.
Michael is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Karen (Alexander) Perry; son, Joshua Reho; daughter, Sarah Cozart; grandchildren, Logan and Skylar Trunck; brothers, John (Fran) Perry, Danny (Linda) Perry; nieces, Carrie, Dodie, Monique and Katie; nephews, Jason, Danny, Brian and Chris; and his pupper, Ziva.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sandy Perry; in-laws, Jerry and Anna (Adkinson) Alexander; and his K-9 Partner, JR.
A celebration of life for Michael will be held at a later date.
