Virginia Hoose Obituary

Virginia Aleman Hoose, 70, of Painesville, passed away peacefully on December 29th, 2019 surrounded by her loving husband and four children after a ten year battle with dementia. She was born on Halloween in 1949 in LaVilla, Texas to Jose Y. and Manuela (Tamez) Aleman.

She grew up in a migrant farm working family physically harvesting crops all over the country. Her father always stressed to his children the importance of getting a good education. She graduated from Texas A&I with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Virginia received her Master of Arts in TESOL and Bilingual Education from Findlay University in May of 1999. She worked for Painesville City Schools as the Director of Migrant Education. She loved her co-workers, inspired and adored her students and reluctantly retired in January of 2010.

Virginia met her future husband Mike in Kingsville, Texas in 1972 while he was in the U.S. Navy. They loved each other so much they were married twice. First on August 27, 1977 at Hope Ridge Church in Mentor and then a week later they traveled to LaVilla, Texas to say their I Do’s once more on September 3rd. She and Mike moved to Painesville where they would start their family.

Virginia is survived by the love of her life, Michael J. Hoose Sr., who she was married to for over 42 years. Virginia will be forever loved and greatly missed by her children, Victoria (Adan) Gomez, Michael (Cierra) Hoose Jr., Kassandra Hoose and Justin (Ashleigh) Hoose and her grandchildren, Gavin DeBarber, Viviana Hernandez, Aidan Gomez Hoose and Jacob Hoose.

“Vickie” as her siblings would call her is the beloved sister of Richard (Fela) Aleman, Hector Aleman. Enrique (Ida) Aleman, Florestela Fuentes, Roel (Alicia) Aleman, Alicia Godlove, Rojelio Aleman, Sylvia (Andy) Zamora, Noemi (Melecio) Rios, Rosa Elia (Joe L.) Aleman Serrano. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Kathy Hoose, who we are so grateful for as she spent so much time caring for her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Joe Aleman Jr.
