Services for Aili K Leivo, age 91, of Concord Township, will be celebrated  11:00 AM Friday March 17, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church, 508 Eagle Street, Fairport Harbor, Ohio.  Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 pm, on Thursday, March 16, at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home667 Mentor Ave. Painesville

Aili and her husband John came to the United States, from Finland, in 1956. Through hard work and perseverance, they established themselves as respected members of the community.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fairport Harbor and was employed as a seamstress for Dalton Industries.

She enjoyed gardening, knitting and spending time with her family. She was active in the Finnish Kalevala Lodge and served as an officer for many years. She loved to travel with her beloved husband John and they saw most  of the country together.

Aili is survived by her son Karl (Pamela) Leivo, daughters Merja (Phillip) Shrout, Kathryn (Michael) Cottage, grandchildren Jennifer (Greg) Crissman, Sarah (Doug) Crowl, Jonathan (Liz) Leivo, Kristina (Drew) Fronczek, Melissa (Brett) Dubsky and great grandchildren Tyler, Karina, Will, Sam, Jack, Jerry, Ashlyn, Evelyn, Olivia and Alaina.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John and her parents.
