Services for Alvin E. Toney, age 82, of Mentor on the Lake, will be held Saturday June 30, 2018 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Painesville, with Rev. Anthony Edwards officiating. Family and friends may call from 6-8 Friday June 29, 2018 at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave. Painesville.

Alvin was the son of Loren and Cleo (Sutton) Toney, born on October 18, 1935 in Ohley, West Virginia and passed away at his home in Mentor on the Lake on June 23, 2018.

Alvin was a system analyst for D.A.S.C.A.R. in Cleveland.  He served in the U.S. Airforce, retiring after 22 years.  After retirement he was employed at Manakiki Golf Course in the Pro Shop. He loved to play golf and work with computers.

He is survived by his wife, Donna J. (Hankey) Toney whom he married on August 5, 1954.

Daughters, Sherry Yvonne Toney and Vickie J. Toney; granddaughter, Janessa Flowers; sisters, Sheron Vastbinder and Betty Jean Young

Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul Toney, Wilmer Toney, Leon Toney, and his sister, Doreen Shorter.
