Born on March 11, 1951, in Painesville, Ohio, Anna graduated from Fairport Harding High School in 1969.  She worked at SAS Rubber Company from 1976 to 2014, retiring, after 38 years. Her hobbies were sewing, reading, and playing bingo. She participated in several craft shows with her pillows and candy making.  She was involved with the Fairport Harbor Mardi Gras for several years.  You could find her selling tickets or counting money in the money tent.

She loved her family and hosting family holidays.  She was the go-to to have anything made (whether it be a wedding dress, bridesmaid, flower girl dresses or baptism/confirmation outfits).  She loved to bake and often showed up with her cheesecakes or her wedding cakes or birthday cakes.  She was the family keeper of traditions (Easter egg hunts, Christmas gifts), and our all-around cheer leader.  She always had a smile on her face, and she just loved her family and friends dearly.

She was especially grateful to have Krista, Heather, Betty, Beth, and Kathy take such good care of her these last few years (from bringing her wine, to dinners, to making sure she had food and was comfortable).  She enjoyed doing puzzles, baking, and coloring with Isaac, Mia, Daniel, Caleb, and Millie.

Anna is survived by her brother James, Popely.  Preceded in death by her parents, John George Popely and Anna (Molnar) Popely, sister-in-law, Marjorie (Otto) Popely, brother, John Popely, sister-in-law, Doris (Baroni) Popely, brother, Gerald Popely and great-great niece, Remington Krzic.

She has 11 nieces and nephews: Deanna (Robert) Law, Kathy Lorenczi, Tammy (Steve) England, Beth (Adam) Mackey, John (Beth) Popely, Joe (Denise) Popely, Christopher Popely, Joyce Popely, Jennifer Popely, Tim Popely, and Casey Popely.

She has 23 great nieces and nephews: Erin, Michael, Robert, Kari, Krista, Steven, John, Joshua, Bryan, Austin, Heather, Cody, Devin, Zachary, Kaitlyn, Patrick, Matthew, Nicole, Nathanial, Luke, Hailey, David, and Cara.

She has 26 great, great nieces and nephews:  Dallas, Emma, Isaac, Mia, Daniel, Caleb, Peyton, Landon, Millie, Clare, Isla, Isabella, Maverick, Harlow, Sean, Joelle, Addie, Jaxon, Ella, Luke, Steven, Skyler, Camden, Delaney, Avery and Madelyn.

Calling hours will be on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio, from 4 PM to 7 PM.  Church services at 11 AM at St. Anthony's in Fairport Harbor, OH on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
