Obituary

Barbara Beduhn Brown, age 89 of Fairport Harbor. Passed away December 29, 2016, at Golden Living Center in Kirtland.

She was born April 2, 1927 in Kirtland, OH to Arthur A. and Josephine (Laney) Beduhn.  Barb was a graduate of Shaker Heights High School, Class of 1945.  She attended the Cleveland School of Art and Ohio State University, specializing in Textiles and Weaving. Her summers were spent teaching horseback riding at Red Wing Day Camp in Novelty and Camp Cardinal for Girls in Rome, OH. It was at Camp Cardinal that she met the love of her life, Lynn F. Brown.

Barbara was an office manager at Alpine Valley Ski Area, a watercolor artist, and an antique dealer in Chardon.  She loved building camp fires, being in the woods and near the water, horses, planting trees, and feeding the birds.

She is survived by her sons; Gregory L. Brown of Laramie, WY, Mark L. Brown, Funeral Director, of Fairport Harbor; daughter, Catherine (David) Dewey of Cookeville, TN;  grandchildren John & Michael Dewey and Carrie (Jason) Ellison; great granddaughters Meagan and Leah Ellison ; daughter-in-law Janet Teichman of Cumberland; sister- in- law, Alice Beduhn; niece, Linda (Gary) Renner; nephews Bill (Jane) Hodge, Brian (Rachel) Beduhn; great nieces and nephews; and dear friends Lee & Carol Sage and Jeff Siebert.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lynn F. Brown; son, Gary E. Brown; sister Etta (Dale) Hodge; brother,  Dick Beduhn; nephews, Tom Hodge and Jeff Beduhn.

The family will receive friends 1-3 and 5-6 PM Saturday January 7th 2017 at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Avenue in Painesville, where a funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM, with Kevin O'Brien officiating.
