Funeral services for Betty J. Spear, age 90, longtime resident of Concord Township, will be 12:00 PM Tuesday, January 10 at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, OH.  Friends will be received one hour prior to the service, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Betty was born on February 18, 1926 in Willoughby, Ohio and passed away on January 5, 2017 at her residence in Concord Township.

She was employed by the former Rayon/I R C Fibers for many years.  She also worked in the cafeteria at Concord Elementary School and the Diamond Shamrock Research Center cafeteria.  Betty was an avid sports fan.  She loved watching and cheering on the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Bill) Calhoun; brother, James Colgrove; Grandchildren, Christina (Steve) Augustine, William Calhoun Jr. and Shawn (Cory) Calhoun; Great Grandchildren, Madison Calhoun, Katherine and Carolyn Augustine.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Jay Spear in 1996; Granddaughter, Cathleen Calhoun, Parents, Clyde and Mabel (Montgomery) Colgrove; brother, Robert Colgrove; sisters, Frances Wilhoite and Melva Poole.
