Bonnie L.
Frye
May 13, 1949 – May 26, 2025
Bonnie L. Frye, age 76, passed away May 26, 2025, at Salida Woods in Mentor, Ohio. She was born May 13, 1949, in Cleveland and spent her entire life in Leroy and Thompson Townships.
Bonnie was a member of the First Church of Christ in Painesville, where she was a Sunday School teacher and was active in Bible study. She also worked part time in the church office for several years. She was an Office Manager for Asbeka Industries for over 40 years, and as she neared retirement, she worked part time at Kohls Department store.
She collected lighthouses and elephants (always with the trunk up), and she enjoyed reading and crocheting. She used this talent to make many things for those she loved. Everyone had a blanket, a pair of slippers, and at least one hat and scarf made by her.
Bonnie loved spending time with her family, whether that was a family game night, a backyard cookout, or a holiday gathering. She thrived when surrounded by the people that she loved.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Guy) Gifford; son, Michael (Linda) Moore; stepson, Dennis (Heidi) Moore; brothers, Gregory Hathcock and Michael Hathcock; sister, Jackie Smeby; grandchildren. Amy Gifford, Sierra Gifford, Hailey Gifford, Hunter Gifford (Jillian Fekete), Justin Bartlett, Tyler Moore, David Oldenburg and Brittany Oldenburg; and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins, one of which is Dina Rowan, with whom she had a very special relationship.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gordon L. Moore and Duane L. Frye; mother, Lois Brown; stepson, Lindsay Moore.
Friends will be received 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Friday, June 27, 2025, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 12:00 Noon. Burial will be at Williams Cemetery in Leroy Township.
