Mr. Carl A. "Kite" Sency of Port Charlotte, FL, age 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 22, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, July 1 at St. Cyprian Catholic Church, Perry, Ohio. Father George Kusy will be officiating. Visitation will be held in the church at 10:30 AM prior to the mass.

Carl was born in Windber, PA on July 20, 1940, and graduated from Windber High School, which provided lifelong friends and a lifetime of great stories and memories.

He moved to Cleveland and worked at Euclid, Inc., and later managed Sunleaf Nursery in Madison, Ohio, where he discovered a love of horticulture. He went on to open his own business, Sency's Nursery. In his spare time, Carl enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, going for a cruise in his '57 Thunderbird, or having a beer with friends in his garage.

Carl is survived by his wife Elizabeth Sency, children Mark, Cindy, and Chris Sency and Elizabeth Adams, stepchildren Jeff Parr, Jennifer Valentine, and Jay Parr, 12 grandchildren, and other family and friends.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Alexander Sency, sister Mary Eleanor Sency, and brothers Ed and John Sency.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Knights of Columbus Christian Refugee Relief Fund, P.O. Box 1966, New Haven, CT 06509-1966.
