Catherine Parker Rippin 96 years 8 months departed this mortal coil peacefully on May 24, 2016 from the David Simpson Hospice House to Eternal life with Jesus.
Daughter of Clarence Parker and Agnes (Baldwin), step mother Frieda (Eging) was born on October 29, 1919 in International Falls Minnesota.
Graduate of Andrews School for Girls and Lake Erie College. Taught 19 years at Mentor Headlands school. She also worked at Gail G. Grant Department Store, Sears and Roebuck and the Industrial Rayon Corporation.
Catherine taught piano lessons, wrote poetry, and composed music. She was a choral singer with "Mothers Singers" (now the Painesville Women's Chorus), Lakeland Civic Chorus, the Zion Senior Choir, and the Perry Community Choir. She was a golfer and bowler and a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Painesville.
She is survived by daughters, Jan Brooks Swetel, and Nancy Hagen, son Terry (Tina) Rippin
Grandchildren Mark Brooks (Bridget Stone), Michael (Pam) Brooks, Mary Zirk, Kevin Hagen, Denise (Derek) Parr, Megan Rippin (Nate Turmel), Tom Rippin and Sarah Rippin

Preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Donald, son Thomas, son in law Paul Hagen and Michael Swetel, great grandson Paul Zirk, brothers, Leslie, Edwin, George, Jerry, Donald and Richard Parker sisters Helen Ludwig and Marion Nugent.
Funeral services will be Wednesday June 1, at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church 508 Mentor Ave. Painesville, Ohio. Pastor Jimmy Riley will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery Painesville. Family and friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Ave. Painesville.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve 5786 Heisley Road Mentor OH 44060.
