Obituary

Collin Thomas Scoville

Sept. 12, 1995 - July 18,2023

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, son of Eric and Caroline "Carrie" Ross (née Scoville).

Collin attended Mentor City schools and Brush High School, but ultimately earned his high school diploma from Mentor High School in 2013.

Collin leaves to cherish his memory four sisters: Danae, Gianna, Nyla, and Raia; His Loving grandparents Josephine "Mickey" and Carroll "Buddy" Scoville, Micheal and Florian Ruffin-Wilson, preceded in death by Kenneth "Scrappy" Ross.  Also left to cherish his memory are his many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins (Asa, Nyaires, Dejuan, Tyler, Carson, Carissa, Kayla, Michael, Cecelia, Cameron, Brianna, Jerome and many more), and lots of friends.  Collin built a life long friendship with his "Big" Jim Stone from the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

Collin was proud to be from  the "Headlands" in Mentor.   Where he quickly found a loving community of lifelong friends through his love for sports and nature. Collin was so loved by his community he would often host sleepovers with more than 10 children at a time. Oftentimes during the sleepovers, the children would play Collins favorite game of manhunt for hours.  As a child, he played football for Ohio State Buckeyes of the Mentor Youth Football Association. Collin, along with his cousins, also played for the Cleveland Muni League football team- The E. 97th Street Bulldogs, where they were coached by his father, Eric Ross. Throughout his adolescence and most of his adult years, Collin lived with his devoted grandparents Mickey and Buddy.  A core childhood memory for Collin would be the many weekends he spent riding go-carts with his Grandfather, Buddy.

Collin spent some time living with his Aunt Tameka (Ross) and Uncle Jermaine Kimbrough and Cousins Nyaires, Asa, Karis and Jace in Wyoming.  He then spent time in California creating new meaningful friendships. He also enjoyed playing beach volleyball and surfing.

Collin had an innate sense of spirituality and it manifested through his love for people. One of his greatest gifts from God was his ability to light up any room with his presence, beautiful smile, and contagious personality.
