David H. Cope, age 72, passed away December 17, 2020 at his residence in Fairport Harbor.  He was born February 8, 1948 in McMinnville, Tennessee to Odie and Martha (Hillis) Cope.

David was a 1966 graduate of Riverside High School.   After high school he served in the United States Air Force from 1967 – 1971.  He worked for The Columbia Match Company in Mentor for several years and then went to work for Glenn Distributors which later became Heritage Beverage for over 27 years, until he retired.

David was an avid Ohio sports fan and thoroughly enjoyed watching the Buckeyes, Purple Raiders (Mount Union), Indians and the Browns.  He especially loved watching his grandson, Hunter, play sports and spending time with him.

David is survived by his wife, Linda (Zimny) Cope; daughters, Melissa (Missy) Cope and Kerry (Chris) Barks; grandson, Hunter; sister, Jimmy Gail (Tom) Stiver; brother-in-law, Bob (Cindy) Zimny; eight nieces and nephews and his faithful companion, Harper.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Private family services will be held.
