Youmans
October 14, 1930 – January 3, 2022
David C. Youmans, age 91, passed away January 3, 2022, in Middlefield, Ohio. He was born October 14, 1930, in Painesville to William A. and Marjorie (Curtis) Youmans. He was a longtime resident of Leroy Township.
David served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a title examiner and worked for the Chicago Title Agency for many years.
Dave enjoyed running, being a long-time record holder of the 880 at Harvey High School and competing in Varsity Track and Field at The Ohio State University. Later, he successfully competed in many road races and the Senior Olympics. He also enjoyed ballroom dancing, the Cleveland Indians, and Ohio State football. He was a second generation graduate of The Ohio State University, earning a degree in Ornamental Horticulture. After his retirement from Chicago Title, he enjoyed putting to use some of his college degree, while working on the Bolton Estate, for many years. Dave was also a long-time volunteer at Lake East Hospital.
Dave is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bethann (Jeffery) Youmans of Willoughby; daughter, Lisa Stratos (Mark); sons, Jeffery William Youmans (Wendy); Dale David Youmans (Janet); grandchildren, Jaret Youmans (Tori), Seth Youmans, Owen Youmans, Emma Youmans, and Edward Youmans; sister, Jane Larson (Arne). Brother in laws; James Jeffery (Lura) and F. William Jeffery (Elmalene). He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Gary Youmans and William Marshall Youmans, and Marshall's wife, Gerry.
A memorial is scheduled for February 19, 2022, at 3:00 pm, at First Church Congregational, United Church of Christ, 22 Liberty St. Painesville, OH. There will be a reception at the church after the services.
