Dollie M.
(Snare) Howser
November 17, 1943 – April 19, 2020
Dollie M. Howser, age 76, of Painesville Township, passed away April 19, 2020 at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland. She was born November 17, 1943 in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania to Laura (Bowen) and Raymond Snare.
After graduating from Huntingdon High School in 1961, Dollie moved to Cleveland, Ohio to attend Carnegie College. She started her career as a Lab Technician at Highland View Hospital. After marrying, she was a stay-at-home mom raising her two children. She enjoyed watching their activities and sporting events; spending many summers at the baseball fields. She continued to enjoy watching her grandchildren's activities and sporting events as well. As her children grew older, Dollie went back to work starting out as a Welcome Wagon representative in the Concord Township and Painesville area. She then worked for TCI Cable in the 1980s when cable tv was introduced to the area. Dollie made her way back into the chemistry field working at Calhio Chemical Company and Argo-Tech while attending Lakeland Community College and Cleveland State University. Dollie finished her career as a Chemist at West Agro Inc. / DeLaval Cleaning Solutions where she worked for 19 years.
Dollie enjoyed reading novels; many times reading multiple books in a day. She was very talented at sewing. A few of the many projects she enjoyed making were her own wedding dress, her daughter's wedding dress, her grandchildren's baptismal outfits, several fantastic Halloween costumes, and costumes for a college musical show.
Dollie is survived by her husband, James Howser Jr.; her son, James Howser III; her daughter, Wendy (David) Conway; grandsons, Nicholas and Colin Conway; brother Roy Snare; and sister, Judy Saul,and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Raymond Dean Snare and Donald Snare.
Memorial Services for Dollie will be held 11:30 AM, Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Chardon Methodist Church, 515 North Street, Chardon, Ohio 44024. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
