Dorothy Sheley Laymon, age 93, passed away Monday morning, July 2, 2018, at home surrounded by her family.

Dorothy was born May 4, 1925 in Sabina, Ohio and moved to Lake County almost 70 years ago with her husband, Frank Laymon. She worked for Lake County Bank for many years as a switchboard operator and later as a printer. She was known for her kindness and love of children, and she enjoyed crafts, reading, music and travelling with her husband.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 68 years, Frank Laymon; by her parents Delbert and Bessie Sheley; and by her brother, Charles (Peggy) Sheley.

Survivors include her children, Debora (Joseph) Hooper, Kevin (Diane) Laymon, and Robin Laymon; her grandchildren, Breanne (Brian) Byrd, Jacob Hooper, Brittany (Jesse) Zabkar, Kristin (Jamie) Enciso, Kurt Laymon, Daniel Laymon, Kyle Laymon, Adam Laymon, Alex Laymon; and three great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to call at 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, July 6th at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville, Ohio. A short memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m., followed by a burial service at Riverside Cemetery.
