Mass of Christian Burial for Edward J. "Bud" Kleppel, Jr. age 94 will be 10 00 AM Tuesday May 23, 2017 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 523 Plum St. Fairport Harbor, Ohio. Family and friends may call from 6-8 pm Monday at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Ave. Painesville OH.

Edward was the husband of Ruth (Krial) Kleppel, deceased. He was the son of Edward J. and Hilda (Meister) Kleppel, Sr. born on February 25, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away May 19, 2017 at Harbor Care Assisted Living in Fairport Harbor.

Bud proudly served in the US Army during WW II in the European Theater. He was employed by Republic Steel from 1948 until he retired in 1983. Was an officer of Local 2265 of the United Steel Workers from 1954 until 1969.

Bud loved animals and was an avid fisherman, bowler and gardener. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and enjoyed the dog races.

He is  survived by his children Carolyn (Thomas) Sundermeier, Kenneth (Judy) Kleppel, Marilyn (Thomas) Bezik and Jacqueline Dolan, grandchildren Jill, Judith, Thomas, Kenneth, Edward, Nicholas, Cody, Amy, Beverly and Shannon, he also leaves 24 great grandchildren.
