On Saturday, November 12th, 2022, Edward J. Stange Jr. passed away peacefully surrounded by family, while his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes trounced the Indiana Hoosiers.

Ed is survived by his wife, Sabrina, son, Edward, daughter-in-law, Sarah, granddaughters, Juliet and Genevieve, sister, Leslea, sister-in-law, Bobbi, nephew, Perron and niece, Persia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward J. Stange Sr. and Margaret (Ondo) Stange.

Ed pushed life to the edge as a proud Army veteran, East Cleveland Paramedic, volunteer Fairport Harbor Firefighter, private pilot, sportsman, and committed member of the Fairport Harbor VFW. Ed's career as an IT professional contributed to the growth of Blue Technologies where he gave over 20 years of service. If he wasn't perfecting his landscaping, Ed would be found knocking down pins at Rich's Lanes or being tormented by a greenskeeper at some local golf course.

Known as a fierce personality, Ed reveled in the adrenaline found in running toward an emergency and always put others first in a time of crisis. He fought valiantly throughout his Alzheimer's battle.

The family requests contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org), in lieu of flowers.

Viewing will be held at Mulqueeny-Spear Funeral Home, 312 Eagle St., Fairport Harbor, on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, from 4 PM – 7 PM. Mass of Christian will be held 11:00 AM Thursday November 17th at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 523 Plum St., Fairport Harbor.  Private burial will take place after cremation services are complete.
