Obituary

A Painesville resident, Mr. Gurbach was born on December 20, 1926 in Grand River to Mary (Tirpak) and Louis Gurbach. He passed away peacefully on July 21, 2014 at Altercare of Mentor. Elmer retired after 28 yrs. as a welder for the former Diamond-Shamrock Corp., followed by working for 7yrs at the former Coe Mfg. Co in Painesville.

He served in the US Navy during World War II participating in the Pacific Theatre, also witnessing the signing of the Peace Treaty in Tokyo Bay

Elmer enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and bowling. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. He also managed several Little League and Senior League Baseball teams for over 20 years Survived by, Sons, Drew Gurbach of Concord Twp. David (Carol) Gurbach of Chicago Grandchildren, Matthew, Kristen Jacobson and Katelyn Courtland Caldwell Great Grand Daughters, Madeline , Eleanor, and Josephine Gurbach Great Grandsons Donovan, Sidney Jacobson and Cullen Caldwell Preceded in death by, Wife, Gloria (Hemming) in 2003 Daughter-in-Law, Katherine Gurbach Parents Brothers, Albert, Louis, and Francis Gurbach Sisters, Helen McDonough and Mary Horvath

Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Painesville Contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project

Funeral Service: St. Gabriel Catholic Church 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Rd Concord Township Ohio 44077 Friday, July 25th, 2014 10:00am Memorial Service: Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Ave. Painesville 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday
