He is survived by Wife, Joan L. (Buckhout) Vendely whom he married on July 14, 1950 Son , Robert J. Vendely of South Euclid Daughter, Joanne Boston of California 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren Preceded in death by his parents John and Elizabeth (Copen) Vendely and a brothers, John Vendely, Julius Vendely, Frank Vendely and a sister Elizabeth Kutie

He was a Navy Seabee during WWII serving in the Asiatic Theatre of operations.

Elmer retired from Avery Dennison in Painesville. He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post 9525 in Mentor, Former member of V.F.W. Post 7754 in Fairport Harbor, MOOSE Lodge 490 in Painesville, Navy Seabee Association. in Cleveland, Lifetime member of the Hungarian Culture Club and the Mentor Senior Citizens Center.
