Elvin M. Skok, age 72, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2021, at Hillcrest Hospital, surrounded by his family after a short illness. He was born April 29, 1949, in Cleveland to Henry and Julie (Brdar) Skok.

Elvin was a long-time resident of Painesville, Ohio. His trade was as a steel fabricator for Comm Steel for many years. He ended his career as a medical service technician and inventory control officer for Providian Medical until his retirement in 2014.

He enjoyed the outdoors: camping, fishing, and hunting. He loved exploring the region on day trips to see natural wonders like rivers, caverns, and caves.

One of his great passions in life was his involvement in youth baseball as a fan of the many teams his sons played for. He also loved coaching many of those teams. He worked hard, but he was the dad that never missed a game. He continued that passion for his grandchildren's sports and activities.

"Big Al" was a wine buff and developed an enthusiasm and skill for making his own wine that he would share with his wine club.

He was also an active member in his social club, who raised and distributed money for families in need.

Elvin is survived by his wife, Penny (Pittock) Skok; sons, Dave (Theresa) Skok, Ron (Cindy) Skok, Mike (Joan) Skok and Christopher (Carlita) Skok; grandchildren, Madison, Jack, Spencer, Colin, Victoria, Jenna, Ava and William; brother, Albert (Dianne) Skok; half-brother, Art Peath and half-sister, Nancy (James) Kaiser.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
