Eric M. Jylanki, age 84, of Painesville, OH, passed away, Oct 6, 2026, in Cleveland. He was born on December 16, 1941, in Painesville to John and Aino (Pellimen) Jaylanki.

Eric was a graduate of Harvey High School and attended Bowling Green University. He worked at East Ohio Gas as a meter reader.

He loved to read books and the newspaper. Eric was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Indians & Browns. He enjoyed attending games in person and watching them on television with his good friends Jim and Nadine. Eric attended Church weekly until his health prevented him from doing so.

Eric is survived by his cousins, Constance Jylanki, and Kathryn Brickman.

Family and friends may call, 9 AM until time of service, at 11 AM Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Avenue Painesville, OH. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery Painesville.
