Obituary

Fannie I. Hyde, 82, passed away October 27th, 2022, at University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH. She was born November 6th, 1939, in Memphis Tennessee to John Lewis and Dora Jones (nee Ferguson).

Fannie worked as a registered nurse for Mt. Sinai Hospital, Lake East Hospital, and retired from Mentor Surgery Center. She also helped open the city's first Free Clinic. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Painesville and the Quota Club, where she enjoyed sewing and knitting. She also liked gardening, cooking, and most of all shopping.

She is survived by her son, Clifton; daughters, Loistein Larkin (Ronald) and Karen; grandchildren, Chimera, Malena, and Ryan; 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters; Pat, Debra, Loistein, Bobbi, Ann, Peggy; grandson, John Lewis; husband, John; and, daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann.

Calling hours will begin at 10am at New Hope Baptist Church (428 W Jackson St. in Painesville) Tuesday November 1, 2022 and service to follow at 12pm. Burial will be held directly after at Riverside Cemetery.
