Mass of Christian Burial for Francis A. "Frank" Komendat, age 88, will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, October 13 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 523 Plum Street, Fairport Harbor, Ohio.  Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday at Mulqueeny Spear Funeral Home, 312 Eagle Street, Fairport Harbor.  Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.

Mr. Komendat was born on Nov. 17, 1927 in Fairport Harbor and passed away at his home on Saturday, October 8, 2016.

Frank was employed by the former Diamond Shamrock and retired in 1975.  He also worked for the Village of Fairport Harbor for several years.  He was a life-long member of St. Anthony Church and a member of the Hungarian Culture Club.

Frank's love of nature was his passion.  He appreciated the beauty of the sky, Lake Erie, the forest and the environment around him.  This was even more apparent by the fact that he owned a hunting cabin in Cold Springs, PA., that he shared with his brothers, their families and many friends, for 55 years.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Lipovich of Brooksville, FL.; brother, David Komendat of Upland, CA., and many nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary (Fazekas) Komendat; brothers, Michael and James Komendat; and sister, Irene Galm.

A special thanks is extended to Marilyn Rinehart and Marc Komendat for their loving care of "Uncle Frank" throughout the years.
