Mass of Christian Burial for George W. Crosby, age 82, will be 10:00 am Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church 401 North St. Chardon. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Tuesday at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Ave. Painesville. A Concord Twp. resident, Mr. Crosby was born on October 9, 1931 in Painesville and passed away on April 25, 2014 at Hospice House of the Western Reserve Hospice in Cleveland George was employed for Painesville Publishing Co., the former Cleveland Press and the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance Co., and retired from Medical Mutual Insurance Co. He was a member of St. Mary Church in Chardon, where he devoted his time in constructing the Library and other church projects. George was one of the original founders of the "Concord Community Days" where he organized the "Frog Jump". Awarded the Concord Citizen of the Year Award in 2008 Served in the US Army in Germany during the Korean War Hobbies, Roller Skating, bowling, woodworking, Community services, and fishing He attended all of his grandchildren's extra-curricular activities A loving and caring Husband, Father, and Grandfather is survived by, Wife, Phyllis (Crawford) Crosby, whom he married on May 11, 1957 Sons, Edward (Cindy) Crosby of Madison Joseph (Danita) Crosby of London, England Dan Crosby of Concord Frank (Companion Angelina) Crosby of Cleveland Daughters, Jennifer (Fiance, Gary Tucker) Magid of Concord Linda(Frank) Crosby-Mozingo of Darlington, SC 17 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren Father figure to many more Preceded in death by, Son, Vincent G. Crosby Daughter, Elaine Metzung Parents, John G. and Helen M. (Link) Crosby Brothers, John, Robert, and Nicholas Crosby Sisters, Mary Hladik Ann Marie Dennis Margaret Shook Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Painesville
