George A. Rasmussen, age 88, of Fairport Harbor, passed away Saturday November 28, 2015, in Fairport Harbor.

George was born June 7, 1927, in Painesville, OH to Edward and Irene Rasmussen. Mr. Rasmussen was a 1945 graduate from Fairport Harding High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he served aboard the U.S.S. Whitehurst. Mr. Rasmussen was a "cowboy in the sky" for 43 years working as an iron worker; he was a member of Local 17 spending many of his years with Kelley Steel Erectors, Inc. He enjoyed: running in road races and completed in more than 50 road races including a marathon in Charlotte, NC; canoeing; working in his yard and taking rides on his blue trike in Fairport. He is survived by his children: Ed (Audrey) of Thompson. OH; Sue (Leonard) of Gormania, WV; Jim (Cathy) of Westlake, OH; Laura (Charlie) of Carrsville, VA and many grand and great grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 1-3 P.M. and 5-7 P.M. Thursday December 3 at the Mulqueeny-Spear Funeral Home, 312 Eagle St., Fairport Harbor, OH 44077 Family suggests in lieu of flowers contributions be made to a charity of your choice.
