George H. Smith, age 86, passed away, December 15, 2022, at Homestead II Nursing Home in Painesville.  He was born February 20, 1936, in Summerdale, New York to Samuel J. Smith Sr. and Clara Smith.

George served in the United States Army from 1955 - 1958.  He worked for Ohio Rubber and Uniroyal before moving to Texas, where he was a chemist and worked at Diamant Boart for many years.  He helped salvage diamonds for drill bits in the oil industry.  When he returned to Ohio he worked as a security guard for Arrowhead Security.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, camping, watching all sports, and he really loved the Cleveland Indians.

George is survived by his son-in-law, John Graham; his granddaughters, Jessica Presley, Michele Graham (Chris Brown), and Katie Keltto; brother, Sam "Hook" Smith Jr. (Linda); great grandchildren, Brandyn Presley, Chase Luther, Emily Boss, John Boss, Harper Lampman and Ryder Brown; ex-wife, Carrie Smith.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Norma (Pebs) Graham in March 2022; his son, Rocky Smith in November 2021; great grandson, Carter in 2017; and his parents.
