Harriett Lula (McGee) Grimes, age 90, passed away February 16, 2021 at her residence in Painesville.  She was born May 24th, 1930 in Tunnelton, West Virginia to Howard Wesley and Edith Virginia (Wright) McGee.

Harriett was a graduate of Tunnelton High School.  She worked as a housekeeper for Homestead II Nursing Home in Painesville for many years.  She loved to sing and was a member of the Painesville Women's Chorus.  She enjoyed gardening, camping, and sewing.

Harriett is survived by her children, Ellen Lee of Youngstown, Cheryl Becerra of Saybrook Township. Samuel Grimes Jr. of Wickliffe Tami Grimes of Painesville Twp.; sister, Virginia Bolyard of Vienia, West Virginia; ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel W. Grimes in 2016, her parents; brother, Thomas McGee and sister, Mary Alice Swisher.

Funeral Services for Harriett will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.  Friends will be received from 1:00 – 2:00 PM before the service, at the funeral home. Harriett and Samuel Grimes will be buried together at a later date in Campground Cemetery in Campground, West Virginia.
