Howard James Behlmer Jr., age 73, passed away March 31, 2023, at Hillcrest Hospital.  He was born December 8, 1949, in Port Clinton, Ohio to Howard J. Sr. and Leona Mae (Hansen) Behlmer.

Howard was an electrician and worked for First Energy for many years.  He served in the United States Air Force and the Army National Guard.  He loved dogs and enjoyed going kayaking.  Howard was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was a member of the Bible Study Group.

Howard is survived by his wife, Linda Ilene (Huhtala) Behlmer; son, Andrew Johnson; brothers, Reginald (Jenny) Behlmer, Dennis (Marcia) Behlmer, Dale (Diane) Behlmer; sister, Cindy Avery-Behlmer; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends will be received 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Monday, April 3, 2023, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.  Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church, 508 Mentor Avenue, Painesville.
