Services for Ian  J. Handler will be Monday, November 14, at 11:00 AM at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Painesville .   Family and friends may call from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.  Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery.

Born April 1, 1992 in Akron, Ohio, he passed away from heart failure on November 7, 2016 at his residence in Mentor.

Ian was employed as a server for Maggiano's Little Italy in Beachwood and he was formerly employed at Olive Garden.  He was a 2010 graduate of Mentor High School and was a member of the football team and played softball.   He was an avid Cleveland sports fan.  He enjoyed working on cars and raising puppies.  He especially loved his dog Stewie.

Ian is survived by his father, John (Tammy Gettig) Handler; sister, Stasia (Andrew) Charter and brother, Devon Handler; maternal grandparents, Joe and Evelyn Carlson; paternal grandmother, Shirley Handler; grandmother, Janice Hill.  He is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, nephews, cousins, and friends, especially Jamie Hull, Chris Hull and Tadd Novotny.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Susan (Carl) Handler; brother, Calvin Handler; paternal grandfather, Raymond Handler; and grandfather, Victor Hill.  Also beloved dog Reggie and rabbit Miss Ruby.
