Ibolya Suhajda, age 91, passed away August 7, 2026, at Chardon Healthcare in Chardon, Ohio. She was born May 11, 1935, in the Pest Region of Budapest, Hungary to Istvan Lokos and Julie (Menyhart) Lokos.

Ibolya was a member of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Fairport Harbor. She and her husband, Mihaly, came to the United States after escaping Hungary during the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. They bought the family home in Fairport Harbor where they raised their family. They built their home in Perry Ohio in 1994 where they enjoyed doing yardwork together. They were both very proud of becoming Citizens of the United States.

Ibolya was a homemaker and took great pride in her beautiful yard and was excited to make it look perfectly manicured which she worked at daily! She loved cooking and made every event and Holiday with her family special. Everyone that knew her loved her beautiful and equally delicious Lintzer cookies filled with raspberry jam. Her home was always pristine, inside and out. She almost always had Ferrero Rocher chocolates on her dining room table for friends and family visits.

Ibolya is survived b her son, Mark Suhajda, daughters Toni (Gordon) Wolfe and Julie (Richard) Sanders; grandchildren, Colleen (Randall) Griffith, Heather Gragg and Emily Sanders; her great grandchildren, Christian Paugh, Ava Paugh, Ryleigh Gliha and Olive Gliha; and her grand dog, Daisy.

Ibolya was preceded in death by her beloved Husband of 70 years, Mihaly Suhajda, who passed in 2025, her siblings, Clara Piricse, Peter Lokos and Arpad Lokos as well as her Parents.

Friends will be received at Perry Cemetery for a graveside service on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 10:00AM.
