Richard James McElroy, II, age 47, passed away April 9, 2015 at his home in Willoughby. He was born October 1, 1967 in Painesville, Ohio. Rick grew up in Perry and Madison, Ohio up until 2007 when he moved to Willoughby.
Rick was a machinist and driver for Chips MFG. in Eastlake and was also a drywall installer.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing darts and he loved his Cleveland Browns. Rick had a heart of gold. He was a hard worker and was always doing things for everybody else. Whenever you needed him he was there. Family was the most important thing in Rick's life. He never forgot a birthday or special occasion and he loved them all so much.
Rick is survived by his long time girlfriend of 15 years Debra Lynn Silvis who was at his side when he passed. Father Robert (Barb) Covell, mother Luella McElroy, siblings David (Brenda) McElroy, Jamey (Jamie) Covell, Andy Covell, Matt Covell, Cindy Tilson, Anna McElroy, April (Jim) Ockington, Peggy (Steve) Perkarski and Abby Covell. He was preceded in death by his father Richard James McElroy and mother Beverly Jean Covell, brother Alan McElroy and sister Annette McElroy.
Friends will be received from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Wednesday at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville.
