Funeral Services for James R. Brown, 81, of Painesville, will be 9:00 AM, Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.  Family and friends may call 4:00 – 7:00 PM, Friday, June 8th at the funeral home.

James was born October 25, 1936 in Caldwell, Ohio to Charles and Bernetta (Lanning) Brown.  He passed away June 5, 2018 at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland.

James was 1955 graduate of Willoughby Union High School and he served in the Navy Reserves.  He was an engineer and worked at Cleveland Graphite Bronze for 45 years.  James had farms in Cumberland and Freeport, Ohio, raising cattle, sheep and goats.  He enjoyed riding horses and especially love spending time with his family.

James is survived by his children, Tacey Lyn Brown and Cynthia Lee (Rich) Ditto four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; brother, Charles R. (Barbara) Brown.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Jean (Hayes) Brown; his parents; and brother, George Ray Brown
